1 / paper or cardboard in your favorite colors
2 / glue If it's for gluing paper, any type of glue will do, even stick glue. If it is for cardboard, a silicone or gel-type glue gun (Scotch) is advisable
3 / scissors
4 / Pencil , ruler or folder to shape the petals
Download this template, these are the petals you will need to create your paper rose:
If you don't have a printer, don't worry, they're easy to draw directly on a piece of paper - notice that they look like four-leaf clovers.
In this case , so that they are as symmetrical as possible, fold the paper in half and draw half a petal right on the edge of the fold. Cut it out and unfold the paper. You will see that you have achieved a whole petal without much effort. Each petal must be 4mm larger than the previous one.
We will reproduce the rose in the photo above. first of all, cut out the template and arrange the pieces according to their size, from the smallest to the largest, as we will work in that order. We will use the smaller ones to make the cocoon and gradually we will use the rest of the pieces to gradually open our flower.
Start by giving curved shape on each petal. You can use a pencil, a folder or a ruler.
Now, you need accentuate this curved shape . Roll each end of the petal on a crochet needle or similar so that it looks nice and wavy. This part is entertaining. You can ask your children, partner or parents for help and it becomes a nice family activity.
As you well know, in some natural flowers, the inner part is very compact: the petals are very tight and close together. We will imitate this effect with paper. Take the end of a petal and roll it until you get it create a small cone . now, embrace the "cone" with the rest of the ends of the petal and glue them together.
Place the cocoon inside the next piece. stick it Try alternating the orientation of the petals to achieve a more realistic flower effect.
Repeat the operation until you only have the last piece left to glue: the base. This petal should be large in size. You have to keep in mind that if all the petals that we placed previously were facing up, this one must be facing down, it must have an inverted orientation to the rest. Stick it on and… Ready!
