Pink or smoky quartz, purple amethyst, green amethyst, citrine... These are gems that share a great similarity in their chemical composition and, together, make up the so-called quartz group. Quartz is pure silica, a chemical compound found in 60% of the Earth's crust in multiple forms, such as stones, rocks and sand. Rose quartz gets this shade due to its phosphorus composition and is associated with unconditional love and peace.

Purple amethyst is the most prized stone within this group. It has been attributed supernatural properties: it is protective and gives luck and stability.

Due to its calcination process at other temperatures, we can find amethysts of other colors: light yellow, red, green or colorless.

Citrine is considered the yellow child of amethyst and, in ancient times, represented the condensation of the consciousness of the spiritual Masters.

The darkest, smoky quartz, obtains this chromaticism thanks to its exposure to temperatures between 300º and 400º.
