Nuria Val @frecklesnur and Jordi Rosich undertook a creative and artistic challenge a few months ago. The two artists would design a piece in the artisan jewelry workshop of Roosik & Co. They wanted to combine their creative and personal universes and share the design process of a very unique piece of jewelry. And... we tell you that the result could not be more original and beautiful.
Nuria is a great lover of geology, so she immediately felt passionate about everything Jordi showed her and explained in the workshop. How does a traditional jewelery workshop work in the 21st century? Where do precious stones come from? When is a diamond perfect? How is gold created?
Little by little, Núria delved into the world of gemmology and jewelry, and acquired a good base on which to start designing a unique piece of jewelry with Jordi...
Núria and Jordi placed precious stones of all colors and sizes on the table. Nuria likes color in general, she doesn't have a favorite color, so she looked carefully at the natural gemstones to discover which one could be the star of the jewel.
He found a clue remembering the Sea…
Nuria is a lover of the sea, her work and trips to islands such as La Gomera, of which she is in love, are well known. Blue is a color with which she feels very identified and it evokes a lot of good memories. The blue gemstones we could start working with could be aquamarines , sapphires ,topazes ...
The sizes of the stones also condition the luminosity of each gem, and the fact is that the ray of light when it penetrates is reflected differently according to the size . The most common sizes are brilliant , round, oval, princess, emerald...
Nuria tried on some earrings that Jordi had created in rose quartz and diamonds . Two of the gems in these earrings were pear cut. Nuria loved this natural shape, like a glistening drop of water. Yes, the jewelry would have pear cut gemstones.
What color gold could go with the blue gemstones? Nuria preferred a warm color, so the doubt was in opting for rose gold or yellow gold.
Jordi and Nuria found the perfect combination in the contrast of the yellow gold and the blue of the stones. The gold and blue produced a joyful and vital effect that they wanted to convey to every woman who wore this very special jewel.
Nuria's favorite jewels are rings and earrings, also Jordi's. So they were glad to be able to start working on one of these two gems together. We like rings...
But.. What if we start by making some earrings? Long earrings, with personality, that light up the face and look of whoever wears them. Forward!
Roosik & Co jewels are characterized by their pure, minimalist, geometric lines, to be delicate and powerful at the same time. And to all these features, Nuria's creativity is added, who brought a wild, fun and passionate touch to the design.
Two unique earrings were born here... Two inverted islands.
We hope you like it!
